Data Enrichment

Data enrichment is the process of improving a set of records by adding useful information to them. You start with a list that is thin — maybe just business names, or usernames — and enrich each row with extra fields: a phone number, an email address, a website, a follower count, a category. The records get more complete and more useful without you rebuilding the list.

The value is in what the added fields unlock. A list of businesses you cannot contact becomes a callable lead list once phone numbers are attached; a list of creators becomes an outreach list once public emails are filled in. Enrichment is the step between "I have some names" and "I can act on this."

Enrichment can draw on public sources — a business's own website, a creator's public profile — to fill the gaps. As always, the responsible version sticks to public information and respects how privacy laws let you use it. Done well, it saves the hours you would spend looking each record up by hand, and the list you already have simply becomes worth more.

How it relates to 1Scrape

1Scrape enriches a list as part of scraping it, so you do not need a separate tool. Two examples:

Creator profiles

Paste TikTok or Instagram usernames and each row comes back with the public email, phone, bio link, and follower count from that profile.

Google Maps businesses

Turn on contact enrichment and the scraper visits each business's own website to pull the public emails and social profiles into extra columns.

Frequently asked questions

What is an example of data enrichment?

Taking a list of business names and adding each one's phone, website, and email so you can actually contact them. Or taking a list of creator usernames and filling in their public bio emails and follower counts. The list goes from names to something you can act on.

Where do the added fields come from?

From public sources: a creator's public profile, or a business's own website. 1Scrape reads what is publicly visible — it never guesses addresses or pulls private data — so an enriched field is empty when the source did not publish one.
